The second Leeds Festival of Kindness, Compassion and Wellbeing opens on Sunday 10 October at 7pm. It begins with ‘Transforming Society Through Compassion by Dr.Thupten Jinpa, official English translator to His Holiness the Dalai Lama and author of the bestselling book ‘Fearless Heart: Why Compassion is the Key to Greater Wellbeing’.

The festival also offers over 30 events, both online and in person, from a wide range of Leeds groups and global speakers.

Key events

On Tuesday 12 October an all day event called KindEx will take place at Leeds Civic Hall. Visitors can learn about inspiring ideas, projects and stories related to kindness, compassion and wellbeing. Book a ticket at this TEDx-style event here.

On Wednesday 13 October people are invited to join the Kindness Trail – a 1 hour walk around Leeds city centre. You’ll see amazing artworks and independent businesses that are open and inclusive to others. It’s a great way to find a treasure trove of new and kind places that you may not have heard about before. The walk starts from Mill Hill Chapel in City Square, next to the train station.
