Free wellbeing course for Black, Asian, and underrepresented staff in Leeds healthcare, including NHS, primary care, private providers, Leeds City Council, and local charities.
The Wellness Recovery Action Plan® or WRAP is used world-wide by people who are dealing with all kinds of health and life challenges.
You will draw on your own experiences to identify what strategies work for you, and through the course, WRAP will help you to organise these strategies and tools into a simple system.
WRAP is designed to:
- Help you stay as well as you can
- Support you to develop a list of activities for everyday wellbeing
- Help you to identify personal triggers and early warning signs
- Create action plans to manage difficult feelings and experiences.
“WRAP courses enable you to create a snapshot of yourself at different points on the spectrum of well to unwell. You then formulate what you will need to do at these points using peer support and education from the course to build on and consolidate your existing strategies.” – Uma, WRAP Co-facilitator
In this 2-day workshop we will:
- Share the history of WRAP, its key values and ethics
- Explore the things you do, have done, or could do to help you stay well
- Develop a daily plan to stay on track with your life and wellness goals
- Identify what throws you off track and develop a plan that supports you when you experience triggers, early warning signs or when things are breaking down.
This 2-day workshop offers a safe, inclusive space for health and care staff to explore mental health and wellness through a culturally relevant lens.
