The Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (LYPFT) is hosting an Accessible Information Standards (AIS) webinar focused on engaging effectively with Blind, partially sighted, Deaf and hard of hearing communities.
Date: Tuesday 27 October
The session will be facilitated by Karl Proud from BID Leeds, a voluntary sector organisation working in partnership with LYPFT. Karl has years of experience working within the Deaf and Blind communities covering a variety of roles and will share his own personal journey of using NHS services. The webinar is very important for anyone delivering clinical and non-clinical services.
To book, please email [email protected] or call 0113 2952401 for further information.
This AIS awareness session will provide a better understanding of the needs of people with sensory and other needs a relating to the Accessible Information Standard criteria and to increase accessibility. The learning will support service design, planning and ongoing developments including their “reset” plans moving forward from next month to 2021 and beyond.
The session will benefit staff in increasing their knowledge of the requirements of this standard, but more importantly about inclusive access to LYPFT services for service users including carers and the public. At the end of the session, participants will have the knowledge and skills required to be able to communicate effectively and competently with people who have sensory impairments, and make reasonable adjustments wherever possible.
