Forum Central PSI Event: Feel Connected: Finding Ways Out of Isolation and Loneliness

Date: Tuesday 4 December, 12.30 – 3.30pm at The HEART Centre, Bennett Road, Headingley, LS6 3HN

To celebrate International Day of Disabled People, Forum Central are excited to announce that we are holding an event:

The theme for this year’s International Day of Disabled People is empowering disabled people and ensuring inclusiveness and equality.

In keeping with the theme, our event is focusing on tackling social isolation and loneliness, and increasing opportunities for disabled people in Leeds to feel more empowered and connected.

The event will bring together the third sector, disabled people with physical and sensory impairments and statutory partners to network and have a discussion about the key issues.

Join us to hear from speakers about local and national work aimed at reducing social isolation and loneliness, talk about the experiences of disabled people in Leeds and together try to find solutions to some of the barriers that have a direct impact on many disabled people being able to become – and stay – more connected.

Lunch will be provided, along with an opportunity to browse a mini-marketplace showcasing the work of member organisations and partners working to tackle social isolation in the city.

BSL interpreters will be available.
