Better Conversations in Leeds is a culture change program moving the conversation between worker and citizen from a paternalistic dynamic where the worker is viewed as the “expert” and has a role to “fix” the citizen towards one of an equal partnership where the worker looks to enable the citizen.
Better Conversation are offering One Day Skills sessions which will be available to all staff across Leeds Health and Care System.
Please see attached flyer for details of the Skills Day Sessions and how to book onto these and below for skills sessions available from January to April.
Better Conversations has developed from the desire to change conversations from “What’s wrong?” to “What’s strong?”
What the day offers
- The opportunity to reflect on your communication skills, recognise what you do well, and identify areas for development.
- The chance to refresh and practice your skills in a supportive environment and share learning with colleagues.
- The time to consider how we can embed these skills into our day-to-day roles/practice in the face of things that get in the way.
