DALES Learning Disability and Sensory Impairment Group

/, Learning Disability/DALES Learning Disability and Sensory Impairment Group

DALES runs a group for adults with sensory impairments including: deaf, hard of hearing, deaf-blind and learning disability.

The group is on Mondays from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon.

It’s free, but because DALES is funded by Leeds City Council, the individuals must live in the Leeds area.

The group is based around using British Sign Language, SEE and a total communication approach, to promote communication. They do various activities to help daily living, for example maths games, baking, budgeting/planning and shopping tasks. They also do health activities to promote healthy living, and trips out. They recently visited Tropical World in Leeds and will also be going to the Royal Armouries in September.

If you wish to refer anyone, fill out the referral form.

You can print an advert, which is in an easy-read format for service users.
