Recognising the unprecedented challenges we are all facing during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has published guidance around data protection practices during this period.
The ICO acknowledges the fact that we might need to share information quickly or adapt the way we work. Data protection will not stop people doing that, but the ICO advises it’s about being proportionate – if something feels excessive from the public’s point of view, then it probably is.
The ICO has provided some answers to questions it is frequently being asked on its website, accessible at this link: https://ico.org.uk/for-organisations/data-protection-and-coronavirus/
For further help, you can call the ICO on 0303 123 1113.
