The Leeds Learning Disability Employment Task Group (coordinated by Forum Central) is working in partnership with Leeds Community Foundation to launch this new fund.

The fund will support practical interventions that increase the number of people in Leeds with learning disabilities moving into meaningful, paid employment.

The Leeds Learning Disability Employment Task Group is a cross-sector group bringing together expertise in Leeds to tackle barriers preventing people with learning difficulties from securing paid-employment. The group have established a robust five-year action plan to address problems which sits side by side with the Being Me Strategy – a governing framework focusing on three pledges: Being well, Being Safe and Being Connected.  Employment for people with Learning difficulties sits under the third pledge – Being Connected – and applications should demonstrate how they deliver on this pledge.

This fund encourages collaboration between organisations providing employment support to people with learning disabilities, and grants of up to £20,000 are available to support projects which align with the ambitions of the Task Group’s five-year action plan.
