After 12 incredible years promoting the wellbeing of older people in Leeds, Rachel Cooper, CEO of our partner organisation Leeds Older People’s Forum (LOPF), is leaving on 20 July 2021.

Rachel has been instrumental in delivering ground-breaking initiatives that will go on to benefit older people in Leeds for many years. Some of these achievements include the Time to Shine programme, which brought £6m in funding to tackle social isolation and loneliness across Leeds and establishing a city-wide alliance of Dementia Friendly organisations.

Rachel’s passion for social justice and equality will be a great asset as she takes on a development role with Forum Central members Leeds GATE. Leeds Older People’s Forum will now be led by an experienced senior management team. Rachel’s colleagues Linda, Hillary and Ali will work together to lead the brilliant work of the Forum and produce a national legacy of learning in the final year of the Time to Shine programme.

The Forum Central team wish Rachel all the best in this new adventure and look forward to continue working closely together in her new role.
