Job Title: Mental Health Development Worker

Salary: £27,741 (pro rata)

Hours: Full-time or part-time (35 hours per week, negotiable)

Length of Contract: Permanent (potential extensions subject to confirmation of funding)

Forum Central is seeking an skilled development worker who is ambitious for people with mental health needs and for our members and has a high-level expertise and an understanding of mental health and wellbeing and health inequalities.

The post holder will show excellent project management and administrative experience and expertise, including proficient and nuanced communication skills with a range of stakeholders, prioritisation skills, be experienced in drafting and preparing documents, taking individual and team action

The post is employed by Volition as part of the Forum Central team. Forum Central seeks to bring about positive change in the lives of people in Leeds through strong and strategic representation, effective communication, and an ethos of strength and partnership working on behalf of our health and care third sector membership.

The focus of the role will be on enabling us to build on our growth and impact with strong and strategic representation, effective communication, and an ethos of strength in numbers and partnership working on behalf of our mental health, third sector membership. We also have a unique opportunity to work closely in a multi-agency environment to work across partners and communities to develop Leeds’ Mental Health Collaboration Plan.This is an exciting new opportunity to help tackle some of the most pressing health issues in Leeds and to support the vital work of the third sector.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate their proven experience of working collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders including the third sector, statutory organisations and Leeds communities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Represent the third sector in the health and care strategic planning and commissioning structures across the city. This role will have a specific focus on the area of mental health and wellbeing.
  • To provide leadership and co-ordination on behalf of the third sector mental health organisations in the implementation of the Mental Health Collaborative.
  • To support and promote third sector philosophy and practice for the improvement of all health and care services.
  • Promote effective communication and partnership between member organisations and with statutory services.
