Leeds Community Foundation’s (LCF) Healthy Holidays Fund, which supports projects that address holiday hunger in the city, is now open for applications from third sector organisations.
Supported by the Department for Education’s Holiday Activities and Food Programme, the Fund supports projects that provide food and engaging activities for school-aged young people over the summer holiday period, and which should prioritise children who are eligible for free school meals.
In light of Covid-19 and social distancing measures, applicants are encouraged to consider what type of activity (online, offline, on-site) and food (hot grab bags, cold grab bags, food parcels/hampers) they are able to provide. LCF understands that the situation is uncertain and will offer flexibility on delivery as circumstances continue to change.
The previous round of Healthy Holidays funding was repurposed to respond to the Covid-19 crisis. LCF is grateful for the flexibility shown by community organisations and others over the past few months. Community groups wishing to deliver Healthy Holidays activity over the summer holidays should apply, regardless of whether they applied earlier this year.
The deadline for applications is Thursday 11 June 2020 at 12 noon. LCF aims to inform organisations of the outcome of their application by mid-July 2020. Applicants should allow enough planning time to start delivery. All activity should be completed during the summer holidays.
