This community-friendly grants scheme is easy to apply to. It asks communities what they need and what ideas they have to improve lives in their local area, and helps to bring those ideas a reality – supporting both new and existing activity.

Purpose of Hey Neighbour

The purpose of the Hey Neighbour grants scheme is to fund new and existing activity in communities to bring people together.

There is £20,000 worth of grants to give away, up to £1,500 each.

Projects Hey Neighbour has funded

In Summer 2023, 24 organisations were granted a total of £20,000 worth of funding between £300 and £1,500.

Below are a few examples of the type of things Hey Neighbour funding has been used for:

  • A neighbourhood establishing a football tournament using both a grass football pitch and tabletop football
  • 100 residents gathered together in community play using the micro grants to fund venue hire, props and costumes
  • Local streets and gathering together at a community centre for a post lockdown fish and chip supper and film night
  • Establishing a local knit and sew group that produces decorative knitted items for the community.
