Homeshare brings young and old together – the younger person lives with the older person in their home; an arrangement that brings benefits for both people.

The younger person (18+) gets affordable housing in return for offering help around the home such as shopping, cleaning and/or gardening, whilst both people benefit from the company that comes with sharing a home.

Leeds Homeshare Pilot Project is organised by a steering group to ensure the sharer’s safety and to give the arrangement every chance of success. Such schemes exist across the world, including one in London that has been arranging homeshares for more than 20 years.

Homeshare Leeds volunteer needed

A volunteer (age 60+) is sought to join the Leeds project steering group. The role involves a two-hour meeting every other month and the next meeting is in June.

Your input will help us ensure the views of older people are considered. Travel costs will be reimbursed or transport arranged (if needed).
