Leeds Safeguarding Adults Board has launched a new self-neglect policy.

The policy has been developed in response to learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews, to provide guidance about legal frameworks, best practice principles, procedures and legal powers of intervention to support practitioners and services to support people who self-neglect in Leeds.

The policy begins with key messages for practice that summarise key points from national research, and continues with required information about legal frameworks, best practice principles around creative interventions, engagement and support, multi-agency procedures, legal powers of intervention and tools for effective multiagency working.

You can access the policy online here.
