The theme of this year’s Mental Health Awareness Week (MHAW) 10-16 May 2021 is ‘Nature’. Do you run any groups/initiatives with a focus on nature? Do you have a walking or gardening group or take care of an allotment? Or a creative group being inspired by the natural world?

Many of us have appreciated nature more during Covid-19 restrictions, and there are lots of ways we can still enjoy the great outdoors and boost our wellbeing as the rules are changing. Litter picking, planting trees, group walks, trips to the countryside or coast, growing seeds, exercising outside, practicing mindfulness, photography groups… if you’re planning to mark MHAW this year, the possibilities are endless!

If your organisation would like to promote citywide messages during the week, including key messages from MindWell, please email [email protected] letting us know if/how you’d like to be involved. Include a sentence or two about any initiatives you’re running, with web links if you have them. We’ll make sure it feeds into the citywide communications plan for Mental Health Awareness Week.
