We’re pleased to provide an update on the proposed merger between PSI-Volition and Tenfold, read on for further info…

Forum Central, the voice of the health and care third sector in Leeds, has been delivered to date by the partnership of three Third Sector member networks: Leeds Older People’s Forum, PSI-Volition (the physical and sensory impairment and mental health third sector forum) and Tenfold (the learning disabilities third sector forum).

What has happened so far?

As PSI-Volition and Tenfold members will be aware, PSI-Volition and Tenfold, two of the partners in Forum Central, have been in discussions over the last couple of years about the potential to merge the two organisations.

This issue has been discussed on a number of occasions over that period at member meetings and Trustee Board meetings. In recent months, both Trustee Boards agreed to proceed with merger, subject to agreement from respective members.

Information was sent out in July separately to member organisations of PSI-Volition and Tenfold, including invites to Extraordinary General Meetings. This included questions and answers (Q&A) documents.

Members were encouraged to contact their respective Forum Chairs with concerns or questions. Following this, Tenfold held an Extraordinary General Meeting on 21 August and members voted in favour of a formal resolution to merge with PSI-Volition.

PSI-Volition also held an Extraordinary General Meeting on 22 August, at which PSI-Volition Directors voted in favour of changing the charitable objects to receive Tenfold and its assets.

What happens next?

We are continuing to work through the practicalities of merging including obtaining confirmation from the Charity Commission, however from an operational perspective PSI-Volition and Tenfold are now operating in shadow form until the formalities of merger have happened.

We will be consulting with members about finding a new name that best reflects the vision and objectives of the merged organisation after formal merger has taken place.

The PSI-Volition and Tenfold Trustee Boards will now meet as a Shadow Trustee Board, and will be co-chaired by Andy Rawnsley, Tenfold Chair, and Alison Lowe, PSI-Volition Chair.

We’ll continue to keep you updated on progress via the Forum Central website and e-bulletin.

If you have any queries in the meantime, please feel free to contact Lucy Graham, PSI-Volition Director 0113 242 1321

Thank you for your continued support
