Training is being offered to Leeds Older People’s Forum member organisations to help address the need for increased resilience in staff and members.

Delivery of the training is 19 January or 2 February.

The course is open to staff from LOPF member organisations both NNS and others. There are a limited number of places so applications are restricted to no more than 2 per organisation. Although LOPF and Time to Shine are underwriting a large part of the cost, they are asking for a contribution both to help fund the two courses, and to assure your attendance, the charge is nominal for what promises to be some amazing training.

You can request to book onto one of these dates on the Eventbrite page.

About the Event

This training course is being delivered by Jayne Ellis, she has worked in healthcare for over 30 years as a nurse and an educator, setting up EF training 11 years ago to provide quality evidence-based training. Five years ago she wrote and developed the first course in the UK that pro-actively addresses the impact of Compassion Fatigue on individuals and organisations.

Having experienced compassion fatigue herself Jayne is acutely aware of the emotional toll that working in any caring role takes from people. Jayne is delivering a truncated version of the full day course for us, and although we need to pass some of the costs on you are getting a fantastic bargain.

This training has been developed to help anyone working in an environment where they are responsible for the care of others. It will help you to:

  • RECOGNISE the emotional impact

Enabling you to identify the physical and emotional impact of your role, the risk factors, signs and symptoms of Compassion Fatigue and vicarious trauma.

  • RESPOND to the symptoms

Exploring a variety of practical and sustainable self-care strategies; including how diet, exercise and sleep can affect mental health and influence emotional resilience.

  • RECOVER for resilience

Practical techniques that have been proven to enable relaxation including, breathing techniques and mindfulness and helping you prioritise self-care and self-compassion.
