A report and tips about supporting working carers have been issued by Think Local Act Personal. Leeds City Council’s Adults and Health Directorate has been involved in the project working with colleagues across Yorkshire and the North West around this important issue.

The project worked collaboratively across the regions with:

  • working carers
  • carers groups and centres
  • businesses
  • employer and employee representative organisations
  • health and social care partners.

Talking about the Top Tips, Philippa Russell DBE, Government’s Standing Commission on Carers said:

”..in an ageing society, new partnerships between carers, employers, the public and third sectors will be increasingly important. In effect, supporting working carers is everybody’s business if we value the healthy, emotional and economic well-being of our communities.”
