Job Title: Crisis Resolution and Intensive Support Peer Support Worker

Salary: NJC Scale Points 7-11, starting at £19,554 pa

Hours: 37 per week

Length of Contract: This role is fixed term for up to 2 years with the possibility of being extended

This post will include some weekend and evening work.

The Crisis Resolution Intensive Support Service (CRISS) provide intensive support at home for people who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

(CRISS) works to prevent where possible, admission and readmission to inpatient care.

(CRISS) provides urgent mental health assessment and intensive support, for working aged adults over a 24 hour period and overnight for older people with their first experience of mental health distress or a relapse of an existing mental illness.

The (CRISS) provide an opportunity to talk about the difficulties people are experiencing and work with individuals to develop a plan of care that is tailored to the individual needs or each person, focusing on supporting service user recovery helping to maximise personal independence.

CRISS provides urgent advice to service users, carers, families, professionals across a whole system; involving “signposting” and liaison.

Touchstone has won the contract to deliver Peer support in partnership with LYPFT (Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust) Crisis Resolution Intensive Support Service.

The Peer Support Workers employed to work in CRISS will support the work with individuals, to help them to develop mechanisms for dealing with crisis and thus reduce their reliance on crisis service in the future.

You will need to have lived experience of mental health as well as accessing support services.

You will have experience of giving and/or receiving peer support and will be able to demonstrate how you manage your recovery and what you are currently doing with your time to being able to step up into full time employment.

The successful candidates will need to have strong communication skills and the ability to positively engage with a wide range of service users, colleagues, and other professionals.
