Forum Central is pleased to welcome two new members. They’ve both joined PSI-Volition, one of the partner organisations in Forum Central.
The latest organisations to join are:
Ascendance runs dance classes across Leeds for people with Parkinson’s. The classes are based in local community venues, in areas including Otley, Pudsey, Meanwood and Saltaire, with new taster sessions being offered further afield in West Yorkshire.
The classes are friendly and enjoyable, and run on a pay as you feel basis. There’s no need to book – participants can just turn up and try a class. You can find out more on Ascendance’s website or get in touch with them: Email classes@acendance.org.uk or Phone 0793 368 5359
Humans Being runs workshops and courses where people can look at the influence of gender stereotypes and the pressures they feel to behave in certain ways. The organisation is made up of people who’ve experienced the impacts of gender stereotypes and discrimination in their own lives through mental ill health, sexual abuse, addiction, suicide and domestic violence. Some are also experienced mental well-being practitioners from established, grass-roots mental health organisations.
They work together with vulnerable people, running short courses and training sessions that raise awareness of the impact of these stereotypes on their lives and use evidence-based tools and approaches that they can use in daily life to improve their mental well-being. You can find out more on the Humans Being website or get in touch with them by phone 0113 873 0028 or email:
