The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is looking for care workers and the people they support to take part in a new national recruitment campaign celebrating adult social care.

Working with ET Casting, DHSC is seeking six pairs of care workers and care recipients from across the UK to share their experiences on camera and help inspire more people to consider a career in adult social care.

Who can apply?

Applications are open to pairs of care workers and care recipients who already have an established relationship.

Care workers could include:

  • Care home workers

  • Domiciliary care workers

  • Shared Lives carers

Care recipients could include:

  • Adults (18+) with learning disabilities and/or physical support needs

  • Older adults receiving residential care

The campaign aims to reflect the diversity of adult social care across the UK and welcomes applications from people of all ages, genders, ethnicities, cultures and communities.

What’s involved?

Selected participants will take part in one filming day between 10 and 21 August 2026.

The campaign will be used across a range of media, including television, video-on-demand, social media, digital channels, cinema, radio, and outdoor advertising, as part of the Department of Health and Social Care’s national recruitment campaign.

Successful participants will receive £1,500 per person to cover filming and campaign usage.

Why take part?

Adult social care changes lives every day. This campaign aims to showcase the rewarding relationships that develop between care workers and the people they support, helping more people understand the value of a career in care.

By sharing your story, you could help inspire the next generation of care professionals while highlighting the positive impact of adult social care across the UK.
