Free six-week course in Leeds

A free six-week Mental Wellbeing Facilitator Training course is taking place in Leeds for people who would like to develop the skills and confidence to run mental wellbeing sessions or peer support groups.

The course is designed for people interested in using their lived experience to support others. Participants will explore what has helped their own wellbeing and identify the strengths and skills they can bring to helping others feel more calm, confident and positive.

This training is suitable for:

  • People interested in running mental wellbeing courses or peer support groups

  • Those considering a career in mental wellbeing, group work or training

  • Individuals who want to build facilitation skills in a supportive environment

Facilitating wellbeing sessions can be rewarding, but it can also feel challenging. This course introduces practical, tried-and-tested techniques for helping groups run smoothly, building facilitator confidence and looking after your own wellbeing.

Previous participants have said:

“Very good practical elements through the course to do things and experience learning. It has been a highly developed, professional course.”

“We learned a great mix of skills and activities to use, plus helpful information on resources and organisations. Having everyone facilitate activities gave valuable experience in a supportive environment.”

The course is delivered by Duncan Millard from Humans Being, a Leeds-based organisation focused on mental wellbeing and how gender can affect mental health.
