The West Yorkshire Health and Care Partnership (WYHCP) works with people and organisations across Bradford District and Craven, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield to help make decisions on health and care services (such as GPs or hospitals). The NHS is working harder than ever to improve services, reduce waiting lists, and consistently deliver high-quality care. Many solutions are already in place and making a difference, but your voice can help shape the future of healthcare both nationally and locally.

The West Yorkshire 10 Year Plan web pages, are a dedicated hub for partners, stakeholders, patients and members of the public to help shape the 10-year health plan, providing an opportunity to say what is important in West Yorkshire to inform the national plan. Please keep visiting the web pages in the weeks ahead as more events, local insight and additional content will continue to be added.

The West Yorkshire approach to involvement and engagement with the 10-year plan has two purposes:

  • To capture the views and experiences of partners, stakeholders and local communities across West Yorkshire, providing a West Yorkshire viewpoint into the 10-year plan.
  • Provide an additional opportunity to say how it should further develop, enhance and improve local health and care services to reduce health inequalities, further.

On the webpages, there are plenty of ways for people to get involved and share views. The WYHCP want to not only hear from people and communities directly, but also partner organisations, stakeholders, forums or groups in West Yorkshire and capture these views to feed into the 10-year health plan conversations.

Your views are needed on three key areas of change:

  • Shifting care from hospitals to communities.
  • Making better use of technology in health and care.
  • Prioritising prevention over treatment.

No matter how much or little you have to say, your input will play a vital role in shaping the NHS 10-Year Health Plan and local healthcare planning in West Yorkshire.

Here’s how you can get involved:

  • Share your views: Fill out the survey
  • Help others get involved: Spread the word to your community.
  • Learn more with FAQs: Find answers to common questions.

Why Your Voice Matters

Local feedback will be shared with the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (ICB) and NHS England to shape regional and national plans. Relevant insights will also be shared with local health and care organisations to improve services.

This is your opportunity to shape a healthcare system that meets your needs or the needs of someone you care for.

If you’ve already been involved in related work or have feedback on the three areas of focus, please email [email protected].
