A disabled-led comedy night that has been building inclusive space in Leeds since 2023 will host its final event this April.
“You Can Laugh You Know”, supported by BBC Comedy and curated by Sam Judd and Peter Williams, has delivered 19 shows across West Yorkshire, showcasing disabled talent from emerging performers to established names on the UK comedy circuit.
Its 20th event will mark the final show, with organisers planning a full afternoon programme celebrating disabled creativity, community and what they describe as “crip joy”.

About the event
Since launching in March 2023, “You Can Laugh You Know” has focused on creating a platform where disabled performers are centred and audiences can access comedy in an inclusive, welcoming environment.
The final event builds on this by combining performance, storytelling and community in a single afternoon.
Accessibility
The event will take place at Archive, a fully accessible venue with:
- Step-free access throughout
- Accessible toilet facilities, including access to changing places facility nearby
- A relaxed performance environment suitable for autistic and neurodiverse audiences
- Free entry for carers and personal assistants
- Assistance dogs welcome
Organisers are also open to discussing individual access requirements in advance.
Disabled-led spaces remain underrepresented in the cultural sector. Initiatives like “You Can Laugh You Know” play an important role in creating opportunities for disabled artists while building inclusive community spaces.
This final event is both a celebration of that work and an opportunity for people in Leeds to experience it.
