From the 11 October, Leeds Adult ADHD Service will temporarily close to non-urgent referrals.
Letters have been sent to everyone on the waiting list.
This will understandably be very distressing news for people who are hoping to get a diagnosis from the NHS, and in turn, for the organisations and groups who support people with ADHD.
While this is highly unwelcome news, it is understandable in the context of raising demand and LYPFT’s current capacity to meet demand. This issue needs urgent attention as the demand is not just going to disappear and its impact will be felt elsewhere.
The Third Sector in Leeds has a strong network of organisations who deliver services and advocate for people with ADHD and their families – many of you are providing valuable support and may feel heightened demand and pressure at this time. If your organisation needs support please reach out to us and we will try our best to raise your concerns with NHS partners.
There is further information published on the LYPFT website: Leeds Adult ADHD Service
There is also an FAQs: question and answer sheet which has additional information.
If you have any questions about this referral suspension please get in touch on [email protected].
