
Leeds City Council is hosting Prevent Awareness Week 2026, taking place from Monday 9 to Thursday 12 February 2026.
The week will offer a programme of free learning and training sessions focused on key areas of the Prevent agenda. Sessions are aimed at colleagues working in Leeds across the statutory and third sectors, including education, and will be particularly relevant for those working on the frontline.
Most sessions will be delivered online, with a small number of in-person sessions clearly identified in the programme.
What the week will cover
Across the four days, sessions will explore a range of topics, including:

Prevent awareness and the local threat picture

When and how to make Prevent referrals

Online radicalisation and extremism

Antisemitism and extremism
-
Anti-Muslim hatred
-
The manosphere and incel movement
-
Nihilistic violent subcultures

Radicalisation risks for neurodiverse young people
Training will be delivered by Leeds Prevent alongside a range of specialist partners, including Community Safety Trust, Tell MAMA, Deflect + Protect and others.
