Dementia Friendly Leeds is hosting a creative showcase which falls just after Dementia Action Week this year. We feel this gives everyone an opportunity to host their own activities as well as attend ours. The event aims to help people learn more about Dementia Friendly Leeds, raise awareness, open up new opportunities, be inspired and connect.

  • The event will be hosted by Andrew Edwards (formally BBC Radio Leeds) author of Mum and Me- Dementia Diary.
  • We are very excited to share that we will be welcoming Duncan and Fran from Channel 4’s hit show The Piano. They will be performing together on the main stage.
  • A marketplace of 40 dementia friendly stalls will be spread across the ballroom.
  • Decades Disco!
  • Playwright Chris O’Connor will be talking about his highly anticipated new play which will be debuting at Leeds Playhouse called ‘Through it all together. It stars Reece Dinsdale and Shobna Gulati and charts the experiences of a family living with dementia and their shared love of Leeds United.
  • The first 100 guests will receive a Dementia Friendly Leeds shopper, sponsored by Ghyll Royd. The bag will include flyers and leaflets, including the NEW City Centre Access map, which has been co-produced by some of our groups.
  • Cafe on site serving hot food
  • FREE car parking for up to 300 vehicles
  • Level access and accessible facilities

More exciting things are being added, and the programme will be shared soon! We urge you to save the date and book transport if needed.
