We’re sharing an opportunity for VCSE organisations in Leeds to help people they work with take a first step into paid work in health and social care.
The Careers in Care programme is now open for expressions of interest. We’re asking organisations to pass this on to any clients or service users who may be ready to explore a career in the care sector.
What is Careers in Care?
Careers in Care is a free, week-long introductory course delivered at Leeds City College. It gives participants a practical and realistic insight into what working in care involves.
During the week, participants will:
-
Learn core care skills, including moving and handling, personal care, and communication
-
Gain an accredited qualification aligned to the health and care sector
-
Take part in practical, interactive sessions
At the end of the course, attendees receive interview preparation and ongoing support from the Talent Hub, helping them move into real employment opportunities across a range of health and care organisations.

Are aged 19 or over
