A new Charity Hub at Leeds City Station is now available for voluntary and community organisations looking to engage with the public and offer support services.
The hub, launched by Network Rail, provides a dedicated space inside the station where organisations can meet passengers, raise awareness of their work and connect with people who may need help or advice.
The space is available on a flexible booking basis, meaning charities and community groups can book it when their services are most needed.
You can read the full announcement in their blog post.
Supporting vulnerable people in the community
The hub has been created as a place where organisations can reach people who may be vulnerable or in need of support while travelling through one of the busiest transport hubs in the region.
Several organisations are already involved, including:
-
British Transport Police
-
Samaritans
-
Women Friendly Leeds – Women’s Night Safe Space

The aim is to create a coordinated approach where partners can offer support, information and outreach in a visible and accessible setting.
Julie Swift, Station Interface Manager at Leeds station, said the hub is about building stronger connections between services and the public.
“This vital new hub represents a significant step forward in supporting vulnerable people across Leeds. By partnering with trusted local organisations, we’re not just creating a space – we’re building a link where people can access essential support in times of need.”
A new opportunity for the Leeds VCSE sector
For organisations working across health, wellbeing, safeguarding and community support, the hub offers a practical opportunity to engage directly with the public in a high-footfall environment.
Leeds station sees thousands of passengers every day, making it a key location for outreach, awareness campaigns and community engagement.
The initiative is launching initially as a trial, with plans to make it permanent following evaluation of its impact.
