The Compassionate Leeds programme team is delivering a short, 60-minute online session to support a shared understanding of trauma informed practice across Leeds.
This introductory session is designed for people at any stage of their trauma informed journey. Whether you are new to the concept or already applying trauma informed principles in your work, the session offers a useful opportunity to build shared language, reflect on practice and strengthen understanding.
The session explores what trauma informed practice means in a Leeds context and introduces the six trauma informed principles, with a focus on how these can be applied in day-to-day work. It also recognises the emotional impact of supporting others and highlights the importance of compassion for both the people we work with and ourselves.
The training is open to anyone supporting children, young people and families in Leeds, including volunteers, practitioners, operational managers and strategic leaders. It may also be helpful for those working across adult health and care, supporting a joined-up, city-wide approach.
Multiple dates are available.
