Predicted launch: Wednesday 19 November 2025
Local debrief session: Tuesday 9 December, 10am–12pm – Heart Research UK, Joseph’s Well, LS3 1AB (and on Zoom)

For the first time ever, England will have a dedicated Men’s Health Strategy — a key step in recognising men’s specific health needs and improving access to services. The new strategy is the result of many years of advocacy from the Men’s Health Forum, supported by national campaigns such as Movember, and strengthened by the research and real-life insight provided by local networks like Men’s Health Unlocked here in Leeds.

The MHU Network has played an active part in this journey over the last two to three years, sharing Leeds-based evidence on social isolation, prevention and early intervention. The upcoming strategy is expected to prioritise issues such as:

  • Mental health and suicide prevention

  • Health checks and early diagnosis

  • Reducing stigma around men seeking support

  • Improving engagement with health and community services

To unpack what this means locally, the Men’s Health Strategy Debrief and Drop-In, led by Damian Dawtry (Project Manager, Men’s Health Unlocked), will explore how the new framework can support current and future work across Leeds.

All members of the MHU Network and partners from health, community and voluntary organisations are invited to join either in person or online.
