A new report, ‘Men’s Health: The lives of men in our communities,’ published by the Local Government Association, has highlighted the need for a National Men’s Health Strategy.
The report, published by the Local Government Association, calls attention to health inequalities for men, focusing in on many contributing factors including reduced life expectancy in deprived areas.
Cllr David Fothergill, Chairman of the LGA’s Community Wellbeing Board, has called for men’s health to be recognised as a national concern and the implementation of a National Men’s Health strategy alongside the reinstatement of local suicide prevention funding.
