Men aged 45–64 across England are being invited to take part in a new research project exploring how primary care services, including GPs, can better support men’s mental health.
The research is funded by Samaritans and delivered by independent research consultancy Pont Collective. It aims to understand:
  • What stops some men from seeking help
  • Experiences of discussing mental health or suicidal thoughts with GPs
  • How primary care services could feel more accessible and supportive for men
Participants will take part in a relaxed two-hour workshop, either online or in person, with opportunities to share experiences and ideas in a supportive environment. A trauma-informed therapist will also be available during sessions.
Participants will receive a £25 payment for their time.
The project comes as national conversations continue around men’s mental health, preventative healthcare and the barriers many men face in accessing support early. For more information about the research and participant requirements, please see the participant information document.
