Leeds City Council consultation on the potential for further selective licensing in areas of Leeds.
Leeds City Council and partners of the health and Housing Steering Group have commenced consultation on the potential for further selective licensing in the city.
The consultation is on a further selective licensing scheme, covering:
- Armley,
- Holbeck,
- Beeston,
- Hunslet,
- Cross Green/East End Park,
- Harehills.
There is an interactive map available of the proposed area and an indicative list of streets.
The survey is aimed at residents and landlords of those areas.
Organisations who support residents in those areas may also have valuable insight to share.
The aim of the proposal is to help improve people’s privately rented homes and by working in partnership support with wider issues such as access to services, health support, training etc.
The following link to the Leeds City Council website provides details of the areas and a link for giving your feedback via an online questionnaire:
Selective Licensing consultation in East, South and West Leeds
Please give feedback on the proposal if you can, and share it with people who it is relevant for.
The consultation will continue until 13 December 2024.
Leeds City Council will consider people’s views on the proposal and feedback on the issues raised. They will then consider the proposal and decide whether to go ahead with Selective Licensing for the proposed areas or not.
If it does go ahead, it will not be in place until Autumn 2025.
