Healthwatch Leeds is inviting people from across Leeds to help shape new research exploring people’s experiences of care before, during and after an operation.
If you, or someone you care for, has had an operation involving an overnight stay in hospital within the last five years, you are invited to take part in a focus group to help inform the research.
The project is being delivered by Healthwatch Leeds in partnership with the NIHR Leeds Biomedical Research Centre, Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Leeds.
Help shape future research
The research aims to better understand people’s experiences of the care they receive before, during and after surgery, and how these experiences may differ across neighbourhoods in Leeds.
Healthwatch Leeds is looking for participants to share their views on:
- The proposed research and whether it reflects people’s experiences.
- The best ways to speak to people about their experiences of surgery and healthcare.
Your feedback will help shape how the research is carried out and ensure people’s voices remain at the centre of the project.

Time: 10am to 12pm
Location: Healthwatch Leeds, The Old Fire Station, Gipton Approach, Leeds, LS9 6NL
Support is available to help people attend, including reimbursement of expenses. Participants will also receive refreshments and a voucher as a thank you for taking part.
