People across Leeds are being invited to help shape the next phase of the Leeds Suicide Prevention Action Plan.

Leeds City Council’s Public Health team is refreshing the current Leeds Suicide Prevention Action Plan 2024–2027 and is asking partners, professionals, organisations and residents to share their views through a questionnaire.

The feedback will help ensure the action plan continues to reflect local priorities and responds to the needs of people and communities across Leeds.

Why your views matter

Suicide has a devastating impact on individuals, families, friends and communities. The refreshed action plan will build on the progress made so far while identifying where further action is needed to help prevent suicide and support those affected.

The refresh aims to:

  • Build on existing achievements and lessons learned.
  • Identify new priorities and groups at increased risk of suicide.
  • Review the membership of the strategic group responsible for delivering the action plan.

Whether you work in the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector, health and care, or have personal or professional insight to share, your feedback will help shape future priorities for Leeds.

Complete the questionnaire

Before completing the questionnaire, you are encouraged to read the Executive Summary of the current Leeds Suicide Prevention Action Plan.

The questionnaire takes approximately 15 to 30 minutes to complete, depending on the level of detail you wish to provide.

You do not need to answer every question or provide your name or contact details. All responses will be anonymised and handled in line with GDPR and data protection regulations.

If you would prefer to share your feedback in another way, please contact Rachel Dukes at rachel.dukes@leeds.gov.uk to discuss alternative options.

Deadline

The consultation closes on Friday 4 September 2026.

Please submit one response per person.
