Celebrating Leeds' Small Charities at the Lord Mayor's Civic Event

Small charities and community organisations from across Leeds came together recently for the Lord Mayor’s Small Charities Event, celebrating the vital contribution grassroots organisations make to communities across the city.

Hosted by the Lord Mayor, the event brought together local charities, community groups and organisations offering funding, advice and support, creating opportunities to build new connections, share ideas and raise awareness of the wide range of help available to the sector.

Forum Central was pleased to attend, meeting groups from across Leeds and showcasing the support available to voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.

Building new connections

The event provided an opportunity to speak directly with small community organisations, learn more about the work taking place across Leeds and signpost groups towards relevant information, funding opportunities and support.

Events like these play an important role in strengthening relationships across the VCSE sector and ensuring smaller organisations know where to turn for help as they develop and grow.

Celebrating the work of community organisations

From neighbourhood projects and volunteer-led initiatives to established charities supporting thousands of people each year, the event highlighted the diversity, passion and commitment of Leeds’ voluntary and community sector.

It also demonstrated the importance of creating spaces where organisations can connect, collaborate and celebrate the difference they make every day.

Thank you

A huge thank you to Voluntary Action Leeds, the Lord Mayor, everyone involved in organising the event and all of the organisations that attended.

We’re also grateful to Claire Graham for capturing so many wonderful photographs from the day, helping to celebrate the people, conversations and community spirit that made the event such a success.

We look forward to supporting future events that bring Leeds’ voluntary and community sector together.
