About the Vacancy: Third Sector Representative on the HATCH Local Care Partnership Executive Board
We are seeking to appoint a Third Sector Representative on the HATCH Local Care Partnership (LCP) Executive Board.
HATCH LCP is a well-established and vibrant partnership covering the areas of Chapeltown, Burmantofts, Harehills, and Richmond Hill. LCPs bring together representatives of local organisations to deliver joined-up collaborative care for local people. HATCH prioritises tackling health inequalities at the neighbourhood level. Cultivating joined up planning and delivery at the local level and supporting the delivery of citywide transformation projects. HATCH LCP does this by building relationships around three key values: conversations, connections, and assets and strengths.
HATCH LCPs Executive Board is a cross sector, strategic decision making group which ensures that the LCP adheres to its core objectives and values. With the emergence of the Neighbourhood Health model, and the publication of the 10 Year Health Plan for England, the HATCH Executive Board have committed to strengthening relations with local communities, and see involvement of the Third Sector as a key mechanism to achieve this.
About the Role
HATCH LCPs Executive board is a cross sector, strategic decision making group which ensures that the LCP adheres to its core objectives and values.
This role is intended for someone working in a Third Sector organisation based within the HATCH LCP area.
Reflecting the emerging priorities within the LCP, we are particularly interested in applicants with expertise in working with Children, Young People and families.
Reflecting the values of the Local Care Partnership, we are keen to receive applications from local leaders, people working in small organisations, people from underserved communities and people with lived experience of health inequality.
While this is not a paid role, the successful candidate will be supported to access any training and development opportunities relevant to the role.

- Presentation of a strategic voice for the third sector and advocate on behalf of third sector organisations and the communities that they work with and in
- To speak on behalf of the sector without a personal or organisational bias
- To feedback to and listen to the views of the sector
- To take a whole-life course approach, understanding that health and care covers all age ranges
- Influencing and developing policy
- An understanding of health inequalities, the assets within and the challenges faced by communities of interest within the HATCH LCP area
Skills & Knowledge
Applicants should be able to demonstrate and give examples, evidencing skills and knowledge in the following areas:
- An understanding of the strategic context for health and social care in Leeds, particularly the development of the Neighbourhood Health model in Leeds
- An understanding of the broad issues facing third sector organisations delivering health and care outcomes in Leeds
- A broad knowledge of local neighbourhoods within the HATCH LCP area
- Strategic thinking and decision making
- Strong communication skills, including active listening and public speaking
- Developing strategic relationships and partnership working
- Good time management skills
What We Need From a Rep (Key Responsibilities)
The representative is expected to bring valuable local knowledge and commit to regular partnership activities:
- Share key knowledge and work collaboratively with other partners to help improve health and wellbeing within the local area.
- Facilitate the sharing of local people’s voices and lived experiences, working closely with people and partner organisations such as Leeds City Council officers, Leeds ICB and Healthwatch Leeds.
- Commit to attending and contributing to regular HATCH LCP activity, including any necessary preparation and follow-up:
- Participation in the HATCH LCP Executive Group (monthly meetings of 1.5 hours).
- Engagement with the wider HATCH partnership meeting (monthly meetings of 1.5 hours).
- Engagement in specific pieces of work as identified.
- Share any key information with other local groups and organisations.
- Be willing to work towards chairing the HATCH LCP meetings on a rotational basis.
- Identify any developmental or training needs and be willing to engage in any training offered.

Support will be provided by the LCP Development Team, Executive Board Members and LCP partners. This support will include:
- Regular and accessible support from the LCP Development Officer, the board Chair and other board members, including the opportunity to be part of a buddying arrangement.
- You will receive an informal induction designed to address any training and development needs, including potential shadowing or mentoring opportunities.
- Your talent and insights will be recognised, ensuring your voice is heard within the Local Care Partnership, Forum Central, and the wider Third Sector.
- We will strive to ensure your voice is part of collective decision-making.
- You will receive knowledge, information, and advice about the Third Sector in Leeds and relevant activities.
- Networking opportunities, access to peer support, and introductions through Forum Central membership and wider partnerships.
