Leeds City Council Public Health is hosting an upcoming “Want to know more about…” session focusing on recent Health Needs Assessments (HNAs) for Armley, Beeston Hill and Holbeck.
These sessions are designed for anyone with an interest in promoting health in Leeds, including people working in voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations.
Health Needs Assessments provide a snapshot of the health of an area, helping identify key challenges, community priorities and opportunities for improving health outcomes locally.
What the session will cover
This session will share the key findings from the Health Needs Assessments carried out in priority wards in inner south and west Leeds.
Topics will include:
• key health indicators showing how healthy the area is
• data on long-term health conditions
• how neighbourhood factors influence health
• insights from community voice and engagement
• priority areas for action
• how organisations can use the assessments in their work
The session will be presented by Jon Hindley, Advanced Health Improvement Specialist (Inner West, Leeds City Council Public Health), and Nicola Kelly-Johnson, Advanced Health Improvement Specialist (Inner South, Leeds City Council Public Health).
