The Asda Foundation – Young Futures Fund is currently open for applications, offering small grants to grassroots organisations supporting the mental health and wellbeing of disadvantaged teenagers aged 13–18.

The deadline to apply is 20 January 2026 (10:00am).


About the Fund

The Young Futures Fund is delivered by the Asda Foundation, which provides grant funding to grassroots groups across the UK through its network of local Asda Community Champions.

The current funding round focuses on the Healthy Teen Minds programme, supporting projects that improve mental health, wellbeing and life opportunities for young people.


Funding Available

  • Grants between £500 and £1,000

  • Total fund value: £950,000

  • Of this, £600,000 is allocated to Healthy Teen Minds

Funding is available for activities that support disadvantaged or vulnerable teenagers and promote positive outcomes.


What the Fund Will Support

Projects should focus on improving mental health and wellbeing and may include:

  • Inclusive activities that remove barriers to participation

  • Projects tackling social issues such as knife crime, gangs, bullying or personal safety

  • Emotional and mental health support, including counselling or therapy

  • Workshops raising awareness of issues affecting teenagers

  • Peer support activities and wellbeing events

  • Sports, creative or recreational activities

  • Specialist support services or speakers

Some costs are capped, including:

  • Sports kit or equipment (up to £500)

  • Volunteer training (up to £100 per person)


Who Can Apply

Applications are open to UK-based not-for-profit groups supporting teenagers’ mental health and wellbeing, including (but not limited to):

  • PTAs

  • Youth clubs

  • Amateur sports clubs

  • Uniformed groups

To be eligible, organisations must:

  • Have an annual income under £250,000

  • Have a signed governing document

  • Hold a bank account in the group’s name (accepting cheques)

  • Have a safeguarding policy covering ages 13–18

Only one branch of an organisation per community can be funded.


What Is Not Funded

Funding will not support:

  • Organisations outside the UK

  • Schools or academy trusts (PTAs are eligible)

  • Religious organisations offering services only to one faith

  • Political organisations

  • Foodbanks

  • Fundraising or sponsorship

  • Trips, meals out or excursions

  • Projects benefiting only one individual

  • Activities involving alcohol

  • Organisations with income over £250,000

Applications may also be unsuccessful if there is limited evidence online of work supporting teenagers.


How to Apply

  • Closing date: 20 January 2026 (10:00am)

  • Applications may close early if funding is fully allocated

  • Applicants must complete the online eligibility checker before registering on the SmartSimple system

  • Supporting documents are required, including:

    • Governing document

    • Safeguarding policy

    • Proof of payee name

Successful applicants will be notified within 12 weeks of submission.
