The Grassroots Grants programme is now open for its next funding round, offering small grants to support grassroots organisations working at a local level.
The programme is made possible thanks to funding raised by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and is awarded through the Postcode Trust network, including:
-
Postcode Local Trust
-
Postcode Places Trust
-
Postcode Neighbourhood Trust
-
Postcode Society Trust
The programme is coordinated and managed nationally by Groundwork UK and is aimed at small, community-based and grassroots organisations.
Who can apply
The programme is open to organisations that:
-
Are small, grassroots or community-led
-
Had an income of up to £25,000 in their last financial year
Applications can be submitted at any time between January and September, allowing organisations to plan when best to apply.
What funding is available
-
Grants of up to £2,000
-
Successful organisations will have 12 months to spend the grant
-
Applicants will receive a funding decision within 10 weeks of submission
What the programme will and won’t fund
The Grassroots Grants programme does not fund sports or physical activity-based projects. If your organisation focuses on these activities, alternative programmes are outlined in the guidance notes.
Funding priorities
Priority will be given to applications that support:
-
Communities ranked within the top 15% on the English Indices of Deprivation
-
Organisations working with communities that are marginalised or vulnerable
Important note
This funding programme is coordinated and managed by Groundwork UK, not by local infrastructure organisations in Yorkshire. Any questions about eligibility, applications, or decision-making should be directed to Groundwork UK using the contact details provided in the programme guidance.
This is a good opportunity for small organisations seeking flexible funding to support local activity and community-led work.
