As Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and local partners continue developing Integrated Neighbourhood Health Plans, a new webinar series will explore how research and evidence can support the design of services for people with the greatest health needs.
Delivered by NIHR Applied Research Collaboration (ARC) Yorkshire & Humber, the free Evidence into Action webinar series has been designed to help commissioners, neighbourhood teams, health and care providers, researchers and system partners apply research findings to real-world decision making. The sessions aim to support organisations as they prepare for the forthcoming Modern Service Frameworks (MSFs) and continue implementing neighbourhood approaches to care.
For Third Sector organisations working alongside health and care partners, the series offers an opportunity to better understand the evidence informing neighbourhood health models and how community organisations can contribute to improving outcomes for local people.
Each 90-minute webinar will combine an overview of the current evidence, examples from applied research and health services, facilitated discussion and signposting to further tools, expertise and partnership opportunities. Discussions will also explore how evidence can be translated into practical models of care for the priority groups identified within the Neighbourhood Health Plan.
The programme includes sessions covering:
- People living with frailty, including dementia, care home residents and people who are housebound (14 September 2026)
- Children and young people (23 September 2026)
- People with mental health conditions, including severe mental illness (9 October 2026)
- End of life care (1 September 2026)
The webinars are aimed at ICB commissioners, clinical leads, transformation and planning teams, place-based and neighbourhood leads, alongside colleagues from primary care, community services, mental health, social care and applied health research. However, many of the themes will also be relevant to Third Sector organisations working in partnership with health and care services to improve outcomes within local communities.
The organisers are also encouraging participants to submit local challenges and questions ahead of each session to help shape the discussions and ensure they address the issues that matter most to people working across neighbourhoods.
The series reflects the growing emphasis on evidence-informed decision making as health and care systems develop more joined-up, community-based approaches to prevention, early intervention and integrated care.
