Armley Helping Hands is recruiting freelance activity instructors to support a new Sport England-funded wellbeing project for older adults in Armley and Wortley.

The “Not So Rusty Project” is a 10-month initiative launching in October 2026, designed to help people aged 50 and over improve their health and wellbeing through gentle movement and physical activity.

The project will deliver sessions within community venues and retirement living settings, supporting older adults who may be living with long-term health conditions or facing barriers to staying active.

Armley Helping Hands is particularly interested in hearing from qualified instructors with experience in:

• Chair-based exercise

• Tai Chi

• Chair Yoga

• Music and movement activities

• Later-life fitness and wellbeing

The roles are paid freelance opportunities and will involve delivering weekly sessions in Armley and Wortley.

Sessions are expected to take place on Tuesdays between 10am and 12 noon from October 2026.

The project is funded by Sport England and aims to improve physical wellbeing, reduce isolation and strengthen community connections for older people across the area.
