Three-Day Training for Leeds Health and Care Leaders
Managers and leaders across the Leeds Health and Care system are invited to register their interest in a free three-day Compassionate Leadership Programme taking place in February and March 2026.
Endorsed by Professor Michael West MBE, the programme helps leaders build confidence in leading with empathy, strengthening teams, and creating supportive workplace cultures. It is part of the Thrive @ Work Programme – Workplace Promise Training, which supports organisations to create healthier, more resilient workplaces.
What the programme offers
Across three full-day sessions, participants will:

Explore practical strategies for compassionate leadership and team culture

Share learning in a supportive peer space
-
Develop both a Self-Compassion Plan and a Compassionate Leadership Plan

Gain a Practice Implementation Certificate
-
Join an ongoing Community of Practice
-
Receive lunch and refreshments on all three days
Past participants report meaningful improvements in their approach to work and well-being.
Dates and venue
You must be available to attend all three sessions:

Day 1: 11 February 2026

Day 2: 4 March 2026

Day 3: 25 March 2026
Time: 9:30am – 4:00pm
Venue: Swarthmore Education Centre, 2–7 Woodhouse Square, Leeds, LS3 1AD.
The course includes preparatory work between sessions. On Day 3, participants will present their Compassionate Leadership Plan to the group.
Who can take part
The programme is open to people who:

Work within a Leeds Health and Care organisation

Have line management responsibilities or hold a leadership role

Can attend all three dates
The training is fully funded, and the expression of interest form collects brief role-related information to ensure it aligns with the aims of the programme.
