Leeds Older People’s Forum is hosting a special Older People’s Hub in January, giving older people the chance to have their say on proposed changes to the city centre as part of the Briggate Action Plan consultation.

The session will include representatives from City Centre Management, who will be sharing and discussing proposals aimed at making Leeds city centre safer, more welcoming and more enjoyable for everyone.

What the consultation will cover

The consultation focuses on proposals for Briggate and surrounding streets, including:

  • Extending the pedestrianised hours of Briggate and nearby streets

  • The 24-hour pedestrianisation of Lower Albion Street, between Boar Lane and Commercial Street

  • Restrictions on riding bikes and e-bikes during pedestrianised hours

  • Restrictions on street peddling

This hub provides an opportunity for older people to share their views before any final decisions are made. Feedback from the session will help shape how these proposals move forward and ensure older people’s voices are heard in plans for the city centre.
