Researchers at Leeds Beckett University are recruiting participants for a study exploring how probiotics may affect memory, concentration and overall health.

The study is being led by the Carnegie School of Sport and focuses on the potential impact of a daily probiotic supplement on cognitive function and metabolic health.

About the study

Participants will be asked to take a daily supplement over a 12-week period and attend five in-person sessions at a university lab.

During the study, participants will complete assessments including:

• memory and concentration tasks
• processing speed tests
• cardiovascular and metabolic health measurements

Participants will be compensated for their time.

Who can take part

The study is open to:

• adults aged 18–35
• people with a Body Mass Index (BMI) between 25.00 and 29.99
