Leeds Involving People, working in partnership with West Yorkshire Police and the West Yorkshire Violence Reduction Partnership, is hosting a conference for women of Black heritage to come together, share experiences and help shape action on violence against women and girls.
Violence against women and girls remains a serious issue, and too often experiences go unheard. This event will provide a safe and supportive space for women to talk openly about what needs to change and influence future support, services and action across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
Insights gathered from the event will contribute to a report being shared with the Home Office, helping to inform future strategy at a national level.
Why this matters
For VCSE organisations working with communities across Leeds, this is an opportunity to ensure that lived experience directly informs how services are designed and delivered.
It also strengthens the role of community voice in shaping responses to violence and improving outcomes for women.
