New training opportunities for staff working in domestic and sexual abuse services across Leeds and West Yorkshire.
Be Astute has launched a series of specialist apprenticeship programmes designed to help organisations build confident, skilled, and trauma-informed teams that provide life-changing support.
These government-funded apprenticeships combine practical learning with recognised qualifications, tailored specifically for people working in domestic and sexual abuse services. Each course blends classroom teaching, workplace learning, and real-world projects, helping participants grow their professional expertise while improving outcomes for survivors and families.
Level 4 – Domestic and Sexual Abuse Support Worker Apprenticeship
Including the OCN Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Abuse: Prevention and Early Intervention
This programme develops the specialist knowledge needed to provide effective, person-centred support for survivors of domestic or sexual abuse.
It covers topics such as:

Crisis response and risk management

Empowerment and advocacy

Trauma-informed approaches

Collaboration and multi-agency working
-
Supporting survivors through legal and court processes
Learners attend one full day of training a month (in person or online) over 15–18 months.
Level 4 – Children and Young People’s Support Worker Apprenticeship
Including the OCN Level 3 Certificate in Children’s Domestic Abuse Advocacy
This strand focuses on working with under-18s affected by domestic or sexual abuse. It helps practitioners develop the sensitivity and insight needed to support children and families effectively.

Embedding the voice of the child
Ideal for those in schools, youth settings, family services or refuge environments.
Level 5 – Operations Manager Apprenticeship
Building Leaders for Safer Futures
Designed for managers and senior practitioners in domestic and sexual abuse services, this course combines the Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship with the nationally recognised Level 3 IDVA Certificate.
Learners explore topics such as:

Coaching and mentoring

Data-driven service improvement

Learning from serious case reviews
Over 18 months, participants complete seven real-world projects, developing leadership skills to drive safe, effective, and sustainable practice.
