As the year comes to a close and the cost-of-living pressures continue, support for people facing food insecurity remains critical. The 2025 Christmas food provision documents are now available on the Leeds Food Aid Network (FAN) website, offering up-to-date information on emergency food support, foodbanks, drop-ins, pantries and other community provision over the festive period. Leeds Food Aid Network brings together food banks, community kitchens, food pantries, drop-ins and frontline workers from across the city so people can find out what support is available close to where they are. The Network also helps organisations share information and make sure provision reaches individuals and families who need it most. Leeds Food Aid Network+1
What’s included
The Christmas provision documents include:
-
listings of foodbanks and parcel provision, including opening times and referral details
-
homeless and street outreach food provision over the Christmas and New Year period
-
a geographical map to help people find nearby food aid services, including pantries and drop-ins
-
tools for organisations running food projects to update details and ensure accurate information on the Network map. leedsfoodaidnetwork.us11.list-manage.com
This approach means FAN can update the information throughout December and early January without having to resend multiple versions of the same document — helping people and organisations stay informed in real time.
Why it matters
Across Leeds, food aid providers form part of a broader effort to tackle food poverty in the city. In addition to emergency food parcels, many pantries operate on a low-cost model where people can access fresh food affordably, and drop-ins or community kitchens provide meals without the need for referrals. Support like this complements other local initiatives — for example, the Household Support Fund provides financial support to voluntary organisations including Leeds Food Aid Network to help people with the cost of food and household essentials. Leeds
Get involved or update information
If you spot anything missing from the Christmas provision documents, or if details need updating, Leeds FAN encourages organisations to let them know so the listings can be kept accurate throughout the season. This helps frontline workers, partners and community groups make the best use of available services.
