About the fund

The Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) is inviting applications from organisations working to improve outcomes for ex-Service personnel and their families across the UK.

FiMT funds projects that support successful transition from military to civilian life and contribute to long-term, sustainable change. The Trust prioritises work that builds evidence, strengthens collaboration and influences systems, rather than short-term service delivery alone.

What the Trust funds

FiMT’s funding priorities focus on improving outcomes across key areas including:

  • Employment

  • Housing

  • Health

  • Finances

  • Relationships

  • Criminal justice

The Trust also supports work that builds capacity, leadership and collaboration across the Armed Forces charity and support sector.

Who can apply

Applications are open to not-for-profit organisations, including charities, social enterprises and research bodies. Projects should be evidence-led, aligned to FiMT’s change model and demonstrate potential for lasting impact at scale.

FiMT does not fund individuals.

How to apply

The application process is managed online and usually begins with an initial outline application. Organisations whose proposals align with the Trust’s priorities may then be invited to submit a full application.

Full details on eligibility, what makes a strong application and how to apply can be found on the Forces in Mind Trust website.

Why this funding matters

This funding is particularly relevant for organisations seeking to influence practice, policy or system-level change for the Armed Forces community, rather than delivering short-term interventions alone.
